Cover Reveal!

The time has finally arrived for me to share with you all the cover for Unravelled! ❤️

I’m very excited about this one. It’s been a project I’ve been watching evolve for a while now and it’s been so hard not to let anything slip! But here we are. 😁 I just want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your ongoing support. Every step we make towards Unravelled being released makes me more and more grateful for everyone that I have around me. It’s another pinch me moment right here and I love being able to share this journey with you all. ❤️

So, without further ado, let me reveal the cover for Unravelled…

Ta da!

So what do you think?

I absolutely adore my cover. It’s the perfect balance of cute and mature and, of course, wool! ❤️

Be sure to let me know your thoughts in the comments. I hope you love it just as much as I do. 😊

Oh and be sure to check out my blurb that has casually snuck it’s way into this reveal. 😉

I had a very exciting meeting with my publisher!

So yesterday I had a very exciting meeting with my publisher. And as result today, whilst enjoying the sunshine in my garden, I’m also: trying to process it all, rewriting my notes, forming a new to-do list, revamping the blog, putting together my next newsletter and writing this post. Things are very much surging forward guys, I hope you all remembered to fasten your seatbelts whilst you still had the chance.

I do need to confess, things have been a little quiet around here lately, but after yesterday’s meeting I’m happy to say I can finally break that silence. Over the past few weeks, whilst nothing’s really been happening here, behind the scenes have been crazy! I’ve been busy looking at cover images, blurbs, release dates, prices, bundle ideas, promo stuffs, creating secret woolly wonders and organising future events. (Phew! I believe there’s more. But I might run out of breath if I keep going with that list.) However, I had all of this information and I wasn’t entirely sure what I was and wasn’t allowed to share with you, so I had to keep my lips zipped. But then yesterday I got the green light I was hoping for and I am so happy! (I mean if any of you caught my first ever Facebook Live yesterday I’m pretty confident you could see that happiness. 😂)

But what does all this mean for the future? Well first and formost, it means the ball is rolling and everything is falling into place! I  now have a schedule to work to for releases and announcements. So stay tuned for all of that.

It also means that I can now officially confirm that Unravelled will be here for Christmas! Hoorah! 🎉 (I know, I know saying that word on literally day one of summer is like saying a very naughty swear word. But guys, Christmas! You’ll be able to hold Unravelled in your hands this year!!!) And look on the bright side, at least you know what to ask Santa for and it’s only June. 😉 Also, when you think of all things wool, the open fire, the cosy blankets and steaming cup of coco just seem right and we can’t exactly be dreaming of that at the poolside now can we? So there has also been a change of strategy from the publisher which lead to a slight change of release date. However, I personally think the timing suits Unravelled better and gives us time to make the most of all the exciting opportunities that are heading our way.

So there we go. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this exciting news as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it. Now I’m off to enjoy the last of the evening sun. ☀️
Ciao for now!

May Wrap Up: The Author Talk Editon.

Hello June, it’s so nice to have you here! ☀️But, before we all get too carried away with summer lovin’, I want to take a moment to talk about my May. And what a May it was!

Three events. Three different crowds. Three very valuable and enjoyable experiences.

A huge thank you to every single one of you who made it to one of my events. Your on going support is super amazing, it honestly means the world to me. 💖

Sedgley Library Talk.

This event was a childhood dream realised. I’ve always loved libraries, so getting to do a named event at one that has been such a huge part of my life was just phenomenal. The staff were lovely and very welcoming. The audience were focused and involved. And between them they made my talk a sold out event! We had a great chat, with my new event structure going down a treat. The Q&A section of this event was brilliant with the audience asking a range of interesting and thought provoking questions. We even ended proceedings with a raffle, coffee and cake! (In which I won a book! 😂) Thank you to everyone at Dudley Libraries for everything that day and I look forward to returning in the near future. 😊

Yarn Shop Day

Yarn Shop Day was a lot of fun. The atmosphere at the shop was fantastic; everyone was in a jolly mood, happily showing support for their local wool shop and the chosen charity of the day: The Mutiple Sclerosis Trust. I think my favourite part was meeting so many of my fellow wool sisters at the drop in knit and knatter and the nostalgia it created being back in that environment. I even got to speak to people I hadn’t seen in years, which was wonderful. Helen at Beacon Crafts did an amazing job generating interest and entertaining customers. It was a great day all round with goodie bags , special offers, coffee and cake. I really had a great time and am already looking forward to next year!

The Wool-ves Yarnival

The Yarnival opened my eyes to a very new world of wool! From vintage pattern stalls, yarn bombing groups and beautiful hand dyed wool hanks, to spinning wheels, knitted maps and weaving looms, the Yarnival showcased such a variety of talent, I was grateful to be part of it. I especially enjoyed tailoring my talks for this event to include more of my own knitting experiences and I got to hear about the experiences of others, which is always a pleasure. Whilst I was there I also got to join in with some fab things along the way. You can see me pictured above with a granny square I actually crocheted at the event as part of a charity blanket. I also found out about a local yarn bomb that I was invited to take part in and I got my hands on a pair of huge knitting needles! (Perfect for rugs and fast grownong blankets, I can’t wait to give them a whirl.) Considering this was the first ever event of it’s kind, I think the Hembra Craft ladies did a fab job and set great potential for the future of the Yarnival as a reoccurring event. I wish you the very best of luck!

Looking back over my May experiences, I know it may sound cliched, but I learnt a lot. From how interacting with some of smallest crowds can be just as rewarding as the big ones, to having a fantastic reception by just relaxing and enjoying myself, every event gave me it’s own points to take away.

All in all these events were a very valuable experience and I look forward to what my future events calendar has in store!
