Yarndale 2018 Haul!

Wowzers! What an experience Yarndale was. 😍😍😍

I can honestly say it was everything I’d ever dreamed a yarn show could be and I think a part of my brain is still blown away by it all! There was so many lovely things there and it was so hard to choose just a few to bring home! However, I’d like to share with you all today my bundle of goodies so you can get a taster of my experience and give a shout-out to some of my new friends along the way.

I really wanted to try something new with this haul post and do a video, but unfortunately as soon as I got back on Sunday I came down with a horrendous cold! (And I don’t think sniffling, sneezing and coughs are what anyone’s after. Even if only for an FB live!)

So here we are, doing it the good old fashioned blogging way! (However, if you did fancy a more detailed look at anyof these items, I’ll be sure to pop some videos/ boomerangs up on my Instagram/ Facebook story either today or tomorrow. 😊)

Right then, let’s get going…

The Yarndale Shop

The equivalent of the band t-shirt from the rock gig, who could say no to the Yarndale shop?

This was actually our first point of call, where I quickly snapped up the necessities, such as; a programme, a pen, this year’s exclusive pin badge and of course a bag to carry all my goodies in. The butterfly I actually purchased on my second visit to the Yarndale shop. 🙈 It was part of Yarndale’s Creative Community Project in support of a charity called Pioneer Projects, who help people living with dementia. He was such a cute little thing, one of the smallest butterflies there and his colours reminded me of a pumpkin! (And we all know how I feel about that.) I’m hoping to make him into a brooch or necklace one day.

Doug the Pug Pattern

How cute is little Doug here? I just couldn’t leave him behind. I think part of it is do with my weakness for moss stitch. (Those of you who have received my Adrian’s Scarf Pattern will completely understand!) If like me, you can’t resist the cute and cuddley, be sure to check out Sardines For Tea, all of her patterns are just adorable!

Yarnie Guide Badges

As soon as Yarnistry revealed these on her Instagram, I knew I was going to have to get some. Being a Brownie in my youth, I thought this idea was just adorable and perfect for nostalgia. I tried to only buy a couple that I’d actually achieved and treat myself to the others as I progress my skills. Fancy doing the same? These badges have now been listed on the Yarnistry Etsy store too!

I won a set of Knit Pro Zings!

The Knitter Magazine had a Wheel of Fortune type game on their stand which was free to play. I was over the moon when I won a pair of Knit Pro Zings! I love using these knitting needles, they’re ultra smooth and glide through you work. I am in love. 😍

Wild Wood Pattern Book

This book is the stuff of dreams. 🤩 Honestly, Marie Wallin‘s stall made me very happy. Everything there was a work of art. I found it very hard to walk away! 😂So of course I had to purchase something. Even if I only drool over this book for rest of eternity, it was still worth it. Absolutely gorgeous.

Yarnivore Goodies & Beautiful Yarn

I got a little bit excited at this stand…

My good friend Ginger Galore sent me the link to Stitcher Tees a couple of weeks ago and we both agreed that their merch was a must buy. However, we’d just missed out on the Kickstarter and wasn’t sure how else to go about it, when we find out Stitcher Tees and Vicki Brown Designs we’re going to be at Yarndale. We got very excited. I must admit the pin is a present for my boyfriend (He loves dinosaurs and wool, it’s a no brainier!) but the project bag and hand dyed yarn are all mine. 😍 The skein reminds me so much of a unicorn how could I say no? It’s even got shiny flecks in it. I’m literally so excited to get it caked and on the needles!

Scheepjes Shawl Patterns

The Scheepjes stand was very exciting for me as I already knew of their beautiful things! (Especially after asking for their Sophie’s Universe Stool for my birthday. 😍) All the staff were super friendly and they had their bloggers there which was a nice touch. We were also go given these shawl patterns as a freebie after we’d got chatting, which I thought was very sweet of them.

Pollevie Hooks & Shawl Pins

I couldn’t wait to reach Pollevie’s stand and when I did it was everything I’d hoped and dreamed of. 💕 I’ve been a fan of hers on Instagram for some time now and never thought I’d get the chance to meet her. Everything about her brand is just so colourful and cheery, you can’t help but be happy when you see her fabulous creations. So of course I soon snapped up her flowery hook and scissors, what a stunning addition to my collection? And I just could not leave that shawl pin behind, definite Wilma vibes there, it have to be done. She even gave me this lovely Phildar project bag as a gift, how nice was that?

Lucky Dip & Super Cute Stitch Markers

Who doesn’t love a lucky dip?! Since I got back from Yarndale I’ve seen lots of these little packages across my newsfeeds and rightly so, it was a fab idea from Oh, For Hook’s Sake. My mini skein is in the shade Grape Soda (which I already have plans to turn into a beautiful bow), my stitch marker was a teapot (how apt!) and my teabag was Settling Ginger (yummy!). I’m also still building a stitch marker collection and couldn’t resist these three beauties for obvious reasons. 😍

And that’s all folks!

I hope you enjoyed my little haul and be sure to check out my Facebook/ Instagram stories for a closer look. 👀

Hands up, who already wants to book their Yarndale ticket for next year?
