Christmas Haul 2017🎄🎁

Hi everyone! I hope this post finds you well, that you all had a lovely Christmas and that you’re now lounging on the sofa, tucking into what’s left of those Christmas choccies. At this point I feel like my Christmas Haul post has become a kind of post-Christmas tradition on my blog. 😂 But I also like to see it as a virtual version of my Christmas thank you letters.

Once again I have been absolutely spoilt by my loved ones (thank you everyone! ❤️) and I had a wonderful, cosy Christmas spent at home with my little family. ❤️ I can’t wait to show you what I got this year and how, thanks to friends and family, I’m ready for the new year ahead!

So let’s get cracking! 🎉 (Cracking, Cracker, Christmas… get it?…. Moving on…)

Crafty Kits & Woolly Supplies Let’s be honest, no haul of mine would be complete without wool! 😂 My passion for crafting has led me to where I am today and I’m so happy that people still want to fuel the habit. ❤️ I’m absolutely loving the variety this year. We have some old favourites there with TOFT and Brittany making an appearance, but I do have to say I am very impressed with Aldi’s So Crafty range. Also that Hygge CAL kit is absolutely lush. 😍 I cannot wait to give these a go! #notspon

Pug Measuring Tape With all that knitting to do I’m very happy I’ll have this little guy to keep me company and tell me how well I’m doing.

Handmade Decoration How sweet is this little gingerbread house decoration? It was handcrafted for me and my family by my boyfriend’s mum and I just love it. Knowing the time and effort that goes into making something like this makes me appreciate it even more.

Books Another staple of a Briony present haul. I’m very excited for Boys Don’t Knit (In Public).

Supplies! Next year I’m hoping to get back to writing and therefore treats and cappuccinos at home are just the perfect gift! However I’ve got to try and resist eating all these over just the next couple of days! (Disclaimer 1: These treats aren’t all mine. Disclaimer 2: But this picture isn’t all of them. 🤫)

Notebook Speaking of getting back into writing, I’m going to need somewhere to jot down my new ideas and I can think of no where more beautiful than this notebook. With it’s silver leaf pages and gorgeous cover it would be a scandal to leave it blank.

Calendar & Diary 2018 is looking to be a busy year for me so these tools to keep me organised and motivated are invaluable.

Tripod I think this mini tripod come vlogging handle is trying to tell me something, don’t you? 😉

Book Blouse Isn’t this blouse just the cutest? I think I’m going to save it for my next event. So excited to finally own a piece of Joanie Clothing. ❤️

Fantastic Beasts Lego Dimensions However, when I’m not doing author things, I’m looking forward to relaxing with mini Newt. I’ve loved what I’ve played of the Lego Dimensions series so far and I think the addition of Fantastic Beasts can only make it more awesome. Thank you to my boyfriend for this one, I knew he’d get me a Niffler for Christmas eventually. 😉

Secret Santa And last but by no means least I need to tell you about my secret santa present. Every year me and my friends take part in a secret santa present swap. We’ve all known each other for years, so the present game is always pretty strong, but this year for me was extra special. In fact, when I opened my gift I very nearly cried! Reading this post you may not have yet noticed the change to the blog. It’s something very small, but to me it meant so very much. For Christmas Santa bought me a domain name… Welcome everyone to brionymarshall.co.uk! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you
girl very happy. 🎅🏻

The Ultimate Unravelled Kit. ❤️

Today I have a very exciting announcement to make. Something that my publisher and I have been working on for six months now. Something I’ve been immensely excited about since day one. Something that I think you’re all gonna love.

May I introduce to you The Ultimate Unravelled Kit…

This unique knitting kit is for craft lovers and chick-lit readers alike. Fall in love with ‘Unravelled’ on a deeper level; interact with the tale – knit an actual item from the story with our unique Unravelled knitting pattern; let your Unravelled Buddle give your book a cuddle (‘book’, ‘cuddle’ – ‘Buddle’. Get it?!); save your place in the story with your unique Unravelled woolly bookmark, and keep everything together in the attractive tote.

A fantastic gift for someone, or simply a treat for yourself.

(Text courtesy of Hall Good Books.)

The Ultimate Unravelled Kit is available now from HallGoodBooks and I’m so excited about it because…

  • Firstly, I was that involved in the creative process of this bundle that I actually knitted the heart bookmarks and designed the pattern for Adrian’s scarf myself. ❤️
  • The kit’s are limited editions, so there are only so many of them in existence!
  • The red heart Buddles were also designed especially for Unravelled and won’t be available anywhere else.
  • The tote bag can also double as a very fetching and spacious knitting bag.
  • And I just think it’s the perfect gift and what better time of the year for that than Christmas?!

So what are you waiting for? All that excitement for under £30, I think you better let Santa know about this one pretty sharpish! 😉

Trick or Treat. 🎃👻

Happy Halloween everyone! Hope the ghosts and ghouls don’t give you a fright tonight!

Check out the super cute sugar skull wreath I made for my bedroom door. I’ve got to be honest, it’s one of my favourite woolly creations to date!

But enough about the tricks of tonight, it’s still not too late to treat yourself this hallow’s eve because today is my official publication date! That’s right… Unravelled is finally here for all to read!!!

I’m absolutely over the moon that everything is now live! To finally hold my novel in my hands on Sunday was a dream come true, but to share my story with you all, that’s on a whole other level!

There are couple of ways to get your hands on a copy of Unravelled:

1. Visit my publishers website, Hallgoodbooks, and order your copy today. If you click the following link it will take you straight to my order page: http://hallgoodbooks.com/product/unravelled

2. Come along to one of my forthcoming events. I have a few events currently in the pipeline. Now my novel is here, there will be the opportunity to purchase my book at all my events, so keep your eyes peeled for updates on those as they develop.

3. You can also buy your copies from me directly. So if we know each other in person, get in touch.

This has all happened so quickly, I don’t think it’s completely sunk in. But what I do know is that the support I’ve felt throughout this process has been phenomenal and it’s lovely to finally be able to give something back to you.

I hope you all enjoy reading my story as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Competition Extension!

Hi guys,

Due to the high demand for stickers and the unpredictable nature of postage time scales, I am pleased to announce I am extending the deadline for my Unravelled competition!

The competition will now run until Midnight on Sunday 12th November 2017.

Which now means there is plenty of time to get in touch for your sticker packs, choose that unusual place and get those pictures up online!

As inspiration for anyone who is struggling, I thought I’d share a photo from my recent stay in London. Just across from where we were staying there was park with trees that had been yarn bombed and what better opportunity did I have than to yarn bomb a yarn bomb?

So there we go. All that’s left to do now is for me to upload that picture on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook with the #Unravelled and it’s done. It really is as simple as that.👍

So for your chance to win a SIGNED copy of Unravelled and a £25 of Amazon gift vouchers, get in touch!

(For more information and for the full T&Cs please refer to my original blog post. All entries made for the previous deadline will still be considered so thank you for taking part.)

I look forward to seeing your entries! Don’t forget to make them public and use #Unravelled so I’ll be able to spot them.

Good Luck!

My Birthday Haul 2017.

So October is here and with it comes another birthday for me! 🎉🎈

I had a lovely time celebrating with family and friends and I received some really beautiful gifts. ❤️ Some of which I thought I’d share with you today. You never know, Christmas is just around the corner, it may even lead to some gift-spiration for you guys!

Notebooks: As an author, I can never have too many notebooks and these ones are perfect. The pack of three are great for those days when writer’s block and self doubt are threatening to visit and the other well, what more do I need to say?

Books: Books are one of my favourite presents to receive and this year was no exception. I particularly like the variety of this year’s books. A nice mix of fiction and non-fiction as well as a more detailed look at a craft I love alongside an education in a whole new skill!

Selfie Light: You can’t go wrong with a bit of quirky tech and I can’t wait to give this selfie light a try. It’s basically a clip on light and clip on lense that attach to my phone to give my pics a better look. I think this will be a great little gadget to use for my blog posts and Instagram feed!

Board Game: I do love sitting down and playing a board game. There’s just something completely nostalgic and cosy about it. So when I unwrapped a Sherlock Holmes board game I was instantly in love. It looks to be a take on the classic game Cluedo, one of my all time faves. ❤️

Jewellery: I love jewellery and the only thing better than just jewellery is bookish jewellery. 😍 How cute are these little book necklaces? The first is a book with real tiny pages that, if I’m feeling daring enough, I could actually write in! The second is such a special gift.❤️ My friend got me my very own book cover on a necklace! I nearly cried receiving this. Such a lovey gift, it’ll be the perfect accessory for my future events.

Wool: But not just any old wool, oh no, my parents treated me to a trip to the TOFT HQ and enough yarn to make a mini me! (More on that at a later date 😉) For those of you who don’t know, TOFT is a brand of luxury British yarn who also run an alpaca farm! 😍 I love visiting TOFT; having a mooch around the shop, relaxing with a cup of coffee and a slice of cake and then taking a walk around the grounds to see the alpacas.

Also, as those of you who follow me on Facebook will already know, I went to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child last week in London. ❤️ This was also a birthday present from my lovely boyfriend. But after having such an amazingly magical weekend, I think I want to save that experience for a blog post of it’s very own. ⚡️

Thank you again for all the love. ❤️

May Wrap Up: The Author Talk Editon.

Hello June, it’s so nice to have you here! ☀️But, before we all get too carried away with summer lovin’, I want to take a moment to talk about my May. And what a May it was!

Three events. Three different crowds. Three very valuable and enjoyable experiences.

A huge thank you to every single one of you who made it to one of my events. Your on going support is super amazing, it honestly means the world to me. 💖

Sedgley Library Talk.

This event was a childhood dream realised. I’ve always loved libraries, so getting to do a named event at one that has been such a huge part of my life was just phenomenal. The staff were lovely and very welcoming. The audience were focused and involved. And between them they made my talk a sold out event! We had a great chat, with my new event structure going down a treat. The Q&A section of this event was brilliant with the audience asking a range of interesting and thought provoking questions. We even ended proceedings with a raffle, coffee and cake! (In which I won a book! 😂) Thank you to everyone at Dudley Libraries for everything that day and I look forward to returning in the near future. 😊

Yarn Shop Day

Yarn Shop Day was a lot of fun. The atmosphere at the shop was fantastic; everyone was in a jolly mood, happily showing support for their local wool shop and the chosen charity of the day: The Mutiple Sclerosis Trust. I think my favourite part was meeting so many of my fellow wool sisters at the drop in knit and knatter and the nostalgia it created being back in that environment. I even got to speak to people I hadn’t seen in years, which was wonderful. Helen at Beacon Crafts did an amazing job generating interest and entertaining customers. It was a great day all round with goodie bags , special offers, coffee and cake. I really had a great time and am already looking forward to next year!

The Wool-ves Yarnival

The Yarnival opened my eyes to a very new world of wool! From vintage pattern stalls, yarn bombing groups and beautiful hand dyed wool hanks, to spinning wheels, knitted maps and weaving looms, the Yarnival showcased such a variety of talent, I was grateful to be part of it. I especially enjoyed tailoring my talks for this event to include more of my own knitting experiences and I got to hear about the experiences of others, which is always a pleasure. Whilst I was there I also got to join in with some fab things along the way. You can see me pictured above with a granny square I actually crocheted at the event as part of a charity blanket. I also found out about a local yarn bomb that I was invited to take part in and I got my hands on a pair of huge knitting needles! (Perfect for rugs and fast grownong blankets, I can’t wait to give them a whirl.) Considering this was the first ever event of it’s kind, I think the Hembra Craft ladies did a fab job and set great potential for the future of the Yarnival as a reoccurring event. I wish you the very best of luck!

Looking back over my May experiences, I know it may sound cliched, but I learnt a lot. From how interacting with some of smallest crowds can be just as rewarding as the big ones, to having a fantastic reception by just relaxing and enjoying myself, every event gave me it’s own points to take away.

All in all these events were a very valuable experience and I look forward to what my future events calendar has in store!
